Silver Surfers is an online business that retails and wholesales its goods around New Zealand and internationally.

Silver Surfers previously had retail stores in the Papamoa Plaza, Palmerston North, Bayfair in Mount Maunganui and Hamilton before downsizing to spend more time with family and launching our eCommerce site.

Silver Surfers encountered problems with their eCommerce site, which was not functioning correctly and resulted in missed orders from paying customers. The issue lay in the failure to receive notifications for these orders.

Their current partners were unable to identify the root cause and advised Silver Surfers to reach out to the store’s plugin developers for additional support.

Sandra, representing Silver Surfers, was hesitant about engaging a new partner and preferred someone with WordPress expertise to definitively identify and resolve the issues.


Initially, VisionLab conducted a comprehensive audit of Silver Surfer’s website, identifying various issues related to performance, security, and maintenance, or rather, the lack thereof.

Among the problems found the client was missing new orders due to a email deliverability issues on the web host.

After addressing the security and maintenance concerns and bringing everything up to date, VisionLab assumed control of domain name management and migrated the site to its hosting environment.

Once this was complete, VisionLab also integrated a new payment gateway and automated shipping with NZ Post’s eShip solution, to increase our efficiencies in processing sales orders, and to provide order tracking for our customers.

Additionally, VisionLab has taken on the responsibility of SEO and Social Media profile management for Silver Surfers and most recently implementing an alternate payment option AfterPay on the store.

As a result of these improvements, Silver Surfers can now focus on what they excel at, with the confidence that their website needs are being expertly handled by VisionLab.
