windows10 end of life

Windows 10

As of October 14 2025, Microsoft will officially end support for Windows 10. Here’s what that means for you:

  • No Security Fixes: Critical security updates to protect against viruses and malware will stop.
  • No More Technical Support: Microsoft will no longer provide assistance for Windows 10 issues.
  • No Feature Updates: The operating system will no longer receive improvements or new features.

While your Windows 10 PC will still work after this date, it will be at a higher risk for cyber threats and compatibility issues.

What should you do to stay secure and up to date?

  • Upgrade to Windows 11: Give us a call and we can help you work out if your PC meets the requirements. You can check if your current PC meets the requirements for Windows 11 by using Microsoft’s PC Health Check Tool.
  • Consider a New Device: If your PC isn’t compatible, upgrading to a new device that supports Windows 11 ensures a smoother transition and a better experience.

If you need help transitioning to Windows 11, feel free to reach out for guidance! Stay safe and ready for the future.

Multi-Factor Authenication

As we move into 2025, cybersecurity remains a top priority for businesses worldwide. With cyberattacks growing in sophistication and frequency, protecting sensitive information has never been more critical. At VisionLab, we’re doubling down on Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) as a key component of our security solutions for clients.

Why MFA Matters More Than Ever

Passwords alone are no longer sufficient to safeguard accounts and systems. According to recent studies, over 80% of data breaches stem from compromised credentials. Cybercriminals are exploiting weak, reused, or stolen passwords with alarming success, leaving businesses vulnerable to costly breaches and reputational damage.

MFA adds an essential layer of protection by requiring users to verify their identity using at least two of the following factors:

  • Something you know (e.g., a password or PIN)
  • Something you have (e.g., a smartphone or hardware token)
  • Something you are (e.g., a fingerprint or facial recognition)

This layered approach significantly reduces the likelihood of unauthorized access, even if a password is compromised.

The Benefits of MFA

Implementing MFA offers a range of benefits for businesses, including:

  • Enhanced Security: MFA significantly reduces the risk of attackers accessing accounts or systems, even if a user falls victim to a phishing attack.
  • Insurance Requirements: Many insurers now mandate MFA as a prerequisite for cyber liability coverage.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Many industries, such as finance and healthcare, now mandate MFA to meet data protection and privacy standards.
  • Improved User Confidence: Employees, customers, and partners are more likely to trust a business that prioritise robust security measures.
